Teacher Advocate  Job Description (Kalispell & Eureka)

  1. Minimum of an AA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field.
  2. As a Teacher Advocate with Head Start, you will play a major role in the lives of a classroom full of young children. You will develop and utilize developmentally appropriate lesson plans that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. You will lead a classroom that encourages children to experiment, explore, problem solve, cooperate, socialize, and make choices. Additionally, you work directly with the family to ensure school readiness for both the children and adults.

Education Assistant   Job Description (Kalispell)

  1. AA/BA in early childhood is preferred OR a college degree with experience in teaching preschool children and willingness to obtain  a CDA or ECE coursework within 6 months of hire.
  2. As an Education Assistant, you would work alongside the Education Manager to ensure that each classroom is fully staffed, prepared, and using developmentally appropriate techniques. You might be found substituting in one of the classrooms or working at your desk completing assigned tasks/duties. The Education Assistant will help teachers develop curriculum and ensure active and appropriate parent involvement at all sites.

Classroom Aide  Job Description (Kalispell)

  1. High school diploma or GED. Willing to obtain Preschool CDA within 18 months of hire.
  2. As a Classroom Aide with Head Start, you play a major role in the lives of a classroom full of young children. You will work with the Teacher Advocate to utilize program selected curricula to fit each child’s needs. You will utilize positive, developmentally appropriate teacher-child interactions. Interactions could be out on the playground, singing songs in the classroom, or even while participating in meal time. One moment you may be cuddled up reading a book with a child and the next you could be assisting in hand washing, tooth brushing, and bathroom use. As a Classroom Aide, you play a major part in keeping the classroom clean, decorated for each unit, and orderly.

Center Assistant/Custodian Center Assistant / Custodian (Columbia Falls)

  1. High school diploma or GED. Willing to obtain Preschool CDA within 18 months of hire.
  2. As a Center Assistant, you will assume the role and complete daily duties of classroom staff, bus aide, kitchen staff and custodian duties, all of which are vital to keeping the center functioning. You will be in the classroom as needed, working with children at play or meal time, or helping the teacher prep projects for the following day. You may be requested to substitute on the bus route, accompanying the bus driver with child pick up/drop off. The kitchen might also request your help in prepping food items for that day. And lastly your major role will be to keep the center clean and orderly.
