Dear Northwest Montana Head Start Families and Staff,
Head Start is gearing up for school to start again on August 31st (Kalispell and North Valley), and September 2nd (Eureka). We are excited to see children again in our centers!
We know this has been a difficult and challenging time for all of you. We have been working hard over the summer to make sure we have a safe plan for the return of children and staff in the rapidly changing time of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have based our re-open plan to focus on the best practices to reduce and minimize the transmission of COVID-19 with guidance from local school districts, the Flathead City-County Health Department, CDC, and other health professional guidance. As you are aware, the information around the virus is ever changing and we will continue to monitor the guidance and recommendations and will keep you up to date on any changes.
Head Start has always had strict cleaning and disinfecting procedures in place, however, we have put even stricter procedures in place to help reduce the risk of spreading communicable illnesses of any kind. We will be monitoring staff and children’s health on a daily basis and have stringent guidelines for when to stay home and how long to stay home. Children will stay with the same group of classmates and teachers throughout the day in order to limit then number of people each group comes into contact with. We will continually reevaluate and adjust the plans as needed to protect the health and safety of our school family.
We understand that this may be an uneasy time for you and your family, however, we feel confident that we have a plan that will help protect the children, families, and staff. You can find Northwest Montana Head Start’s re-open plan below.
